Here is my question.. I was just diagnosed with PCOS. I am already connecting the dots to various things throughout my life. I finally sent myself to a specialist because my Dr. was not helping me and clearly was missing some pretty big issues that I had going on. Back in 2009, I was 24, healthier, weighed less than I do now, and I got pregnant with my son. He was born at 26 weeks gestation. I developed rapid onset pre-eclampsia and he had to be born. Basically, if I had known then that I had… read more
Thank you for your input I really appreciate it!
I recently started using Nuvaring and i have found that my emotions are all over the place. This os the first birth control i have used in about 15 years so i dont remember how i did the first time around. I have been way more sensitive and crying like crazy. It is driving me insane. Please advise...
Yes, the hightened hormones really can effect someone emotionally. Think of a pregnant woman - she can easily be emotional in any direction.
I was diagnosed with PCOS and mild endometriosis in 2022. My periods have been irregular for a while now, I think it’s been around 3 months since my last period. However, for the last 4 weeks, I have spotted every day (red blood upon wiping, not enough to fill a pad) anyone else in a similar situation?
Hi Claire! Thank you for sharing. I also had a similar experience before I started the birth control pill. Long story short, I had irregular periods my whole life but never spotting, then I started… read more
Who all has been diagnosed with PCOS and have been prescribed Metformin? Has it worked as far as achieving pregnancy!?! Was an OBGYN the doctor who prescribed the medication to you? I don't have any pre diabetes or diabetes period. I'm not extremely over weight I'm 4 foot eleven inches tall and weigh 140 lbs. so I'm not extremely skinny but not obese either. My fiancé doesn't want me to take the medication however I got ahold of some and have heard that the medication has been used to treat… read more
So I recently got diagnosed with PCOS a little shy of a week ago, and I started non-estrogen birth control to help regulate my cycles (the most recent period I was on lasted 2 months 😬) and it completely stopped the bleeding—thank goodness. I have however been feeling more emotional lately with no other symptoms. I do have depression and GAD, so maybe it’s affecting that? I’m not really sure. Has anyone else experienced this?
Hi Laura, I was diagnosed in my teens with the same symptoms initially and same experience, so we are not alone trust me....
@A myPCOSteam Member No worries! It's all very confusing, but I will definitely talk to my obgyn about it once I find a new one. My symptoms are slight insulin resistance, cystic acne, low libido… read more
Anyone else NEVER get a period?
I only do when I take Provera.
I have already tried Metformin, Vitex, weight loss, exercise, clean eating. Still have never had a cycle on my own.
I just started taking inositol, so I'll give that a shot for a few months to see if that helps at all. Any other ideas? Is there anything you have been able to do to naturally get a period?
I’m the same.,.I haven’t had a period in so long and I’m trying to regulate my hormones so I can get one..I know of a YouTuber who had pcos and she didn’t have her period for 6 years die to pcos
Does anyone else experience spotting while on birth control. I've been on it two years and in August and again now I have experience spotting on my birth control. Terrified it's some form of cancer
And acutane is such an intense option I’d more likely recommend spironolactone if you’re looking for a medication option! I’ve never taken it myself though but my friend is someone that really hates… read more
